Mayo has two call outs in two days [ 06-AUG-10 ]
On Tuesday, 03-AUG-10, Mayo Mountain Rescue Team got a call about a local year old girl at 15:45 who had suffered lower leg injury on the South side of the cone of Croagh Patrick. The first response team was dispatched and they requested that a full stretcher team be sent be sent up.
The stretcher team went up and brought the lady down to the rescue base at the South side of Croagh Patrick. From there she was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.

Mayo responds to call out on the Reek [ 08-JUL-10 ]
The Mayo Mountain Rescue Team was called at 15:45 by the Gardai to assist an injured person on the North side of Croagh Patrick. The Mayo MRT responded by sending up their first response team. After assessing the situation they requested that a stretcher party be sent up for the casualty.
The casualty was a woman in her late 50s and she had injured her lower leg. Mayo MRT stretchered her down to the Murrisk car park where they met the waiting Order of Malta ambulance. The ambulance brought the casualty for treatment to the Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
Injured rock climber rescued from Benleagh Cliffs in Glenmalure [ 03-JUL-10 ]
At 4.30pm on the 3rd July, a rock climber exploring a new route on the 1500ft Benleagh cliffs, fell and injured his back. The Mountain Rescue crag team that climbed to his position suspected a pelvic injury following his fall.
The crag team from the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team reached the site of the accident at approximately 6pm and proceeded to secure the 29 year old man and his climbing partners. All were in good spirits, but the injured party was in considerable pain.
