Woman rescued from Glenmacnass Waterfall
Today, Thursday 8th April, a woman suffered a lower leg injury near the top of the Glenmacnass Waterfall at approx. 2.30pm. The ambulance service was called but was unable to evacuate her safely. The waterfall is a popular tourist view point on the road from Laragh to the Sally Gap.
Mountain rescue was alerted and attended the scene, whereupon a technical rope system was set up. The woman was secured onto the crag stretcher and brought back up to the roadside, where the ambulance service was able to transport her to hospital for attention.
Thankfully injuries were minor and the person was extracted relatively quickly from the precipitous slopes onto which she had fallen. Thanks to all those involved.
