Man goes missing in Glendalough during build up to Wicklow Outdoors Festival
The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were both called out to Glendalough on Friday 16th April at 5.30pm. After a searching the paths and tracks, they were quickly able to locate the 51-year old man who had lost contact with his wife 3 hours previously.
The lady, initially quite distressed, was very relieved to be re-united with her uninjured husband, and to return to enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Coming a few hours before the beginning of the Wicklow Adventure Race and the Wicklow Outdoors Festival, where large numbers of people would be active in the mountains, both teams were fully ready for any possible incidents.
Thanks to all those who assisted, particularly the staff of the Wicklow Mountains National Park.
