North West Mountain Rescue Team Locate Missing Person - Antrim
The North West Mountain Rescue Team (NWMRT) were tasked by the PSNI to search for a missing vulnerable person in the Antrim area at 0330 on Thursday 27 May. Volunteers from the NWMRT searched for and later located the missing person at 0430, safe and well.
Spokesman for the NWMRT, Joe Dowdall, said "The North West Mountain Rescue Team are pleased that we were able to locate the missing person so swiftly during a night time search."
The NWMRT was formed in 1980, and is an entirely voluntary organisation, providing search and rescue services in remote and rural locations throughout Northern Ireland, including the Sperrin Mountains, the Glens of Antrim and Co Fermanagh. They work closely with the Police Service of Northern Ireland, and in support of neighbouring Mountain Rescue teams in the Mourne area and Donegal.
