Hill walker airlifted from Wicklow Mountains [ 26-JUN-10 ]
Today (26-JUN-10) at 13:50, on the way to Lugnaquillia (Leinster’s highest peak), a hill walker suffered a lower leg injury on Corrigasleggaun (780m). His group attempted to evacuate him themselves but found that they were unable and called in Mountain Rescue. Both the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Teams attended the incident.
The injured person was airlifted at 15:10 by the Irish Coastguard Helicopter to Baldonnell and transferred to Tallaght hospital for treatment.
