Mayo has two call outs in two days [ 06-AUG-10 ]
On Tuesday, 03-AUG-10, Mayo Mountain Rescue Team got a call about a local year old girl at 15:45 who had suffered lower leg injury on the South side of the cone of Croagh Patrick. The first response team was dispatched and they requested that a full stretcher team be sent be sent up.
The stretcher team went up and brought the lady down to the rescue base at the South side of Croagh Patrick. From there she was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
On Wednesday, 04-AUG-10, the team got a call from the Gardai at 13:45 concerning a woman on the South cone of Croagh Patrick. She had suspected lower leg injuries. The first response team was sent up and they reported back that they needed a stretcher team.
The stretcher team then proceeded to climb the mountain. They brought the woman down to the rescue base. From there she was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar. The woman was in her 50's and was from Co. Westmeath.
